Designer Jo Muir’s life long love of fabric, texture and colour has seen her work in a range of fashion and design related industries over the years. She trained in clothing and textiles in the late nineteen eighties. Her love of interior fashion stems from the belief that our surrounds can demonstrate our individuality just as well as a garment can.

Her designs reflect her connection with the wild beauty of New Zealand beaches as portrayed by a gnarled pohutukawa, the tropical vibrancy of a cabbage tree and the classic beauty of the peony. Each of her designs holds significance to her as a designer, a mother, a sister and a daughter. Her pieces are created one by one, with consideration and thought.

As someone who has moved cities and homes in the last few years, Jo understands the importance of interior fashion that can fit in with your lifestyle. Her designs are created to provide the user with an environment that is easily adapted and changed by using a few key pieces such as her wall hangings, lamps and cushions.

Her fabrics reflect her love of the environment, using natural fibres and dyes. Her designs bring nature indoors, with pieces created to softly diffuse light, move in the breeze and enhance your living space.

Jo is currently based in Sumner, Christchurch with her partner and four children.
